Julian H. Sleeper House Museum Membership Advancement Program

The Julian H. Sleeper House Museum invites you to become an important part of its present and future success by becoming a museum member. Your participation and involvement will be far more direct and rewarding than at many museums.

As you probably know from having taken a tour, or by planning to do so by visiting our website, the JHSH is a compact and complex historic house museum, primarily interpreting life in the 1880s with narration by public speaking professionals.  The President James A. Garfield Collection is by far the most extensive and uniquely honors an important central European nation. Subsidiary collections on such subjects as Roseville Pottery and Major League baseball also are worth seeing.

Your much-appreciated contribution will fund the day-to-day operation of the museum, which has always been prudently and efficiently carried out. The donation is tax-deductible on your federal return, as we are a 501(c)(3) entity. Unlike many larger museums, your membership gives you the opportunity to ask questions and present suggestions directly to the JHSH director.

Membership forms can be downloaded below. in addition to your taking out a JHSH membership, we would appreciate it greatly if you could photocopy these forms and persuade friends and colleagues to join as well. Bringing ten new memberships results in a one-year free renewal for you. Please help the cause of historic preservation with a membership donation so that we can welcome you to the JHSH's future.

Membership Level and Benefits

Benefits at all levels:

  • Newsletter (length and fequency to expand as the membership base increases) with news of special events, highlights of acquisitions, and features suggested by members.

  • Coming soon: Member discounts at retailers and at other cultural sites. Members are encouraged to suggest additions.

 

Level 1 - Welcome:          $50 or more

  • Free tour for 2
  • Choice of JHSH calendar or President Garfield limited edition numbered figurine
  • Free admission for 2(with advance appointment) to one JHSH special event.
  • Gift shop 10% discount

Level 2 - Slovenian Ambassador:          $100 or more

  • Free tour for 4
  • JHSH calendar or President Garfield figurine
  • Free admission for 2(with advance appointment) to two JHSH special events.
  • Gift shop 15% discount

Level 3 - Hotel Sherman Penthouse:          $500 or more

  • Free tour or tours for a total of 8 people during the year
  • Free champagne tour for 2
  • JHSH calendar or President Garfield figurine, to a total of 4 in any proportion
  • Free admission for 4(with advance appointment) to three JHSH special events.
  • Gift shop 20% discount

Level 4 - President Garfield's Cabinet:          $1000 or more

  • Free tour or tours for a total of 12 people during the year
  • Free champagne tour for 4
  • JHSH calendar or President Garfield figurine, to a total of 6 in proportion
  • Free admission for 4(with advance appointment) to each JHSH special event.
  • Gift shop 25% discount
